Recommended for Boys & Girls Ages 11 and up This training gives kids the confidence and skills to help care for siblings and to take babysitting to the level of a summer or after school job. Our course covers both the fundamentals of caring for children in all age groups and emergency training in the case of an injury or illness.
Course Outline: 1. Babysitting As A Business Covers the business aspect of babysitting, Meeting the Parents and Children, Job Information Sheet & Why it is necessary, and “Before the Parents leave” 2. Safety & Injury Prevention Covers proper surpervision, telephone safety, stranger safety, personal calls and texting, restroom use, safety walk-through, bite and sting hazards, choking hazards, burn hazards, electrical hazards, fire hazards, poisons, fall hazards, water hazards, Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS Awareness, Safe sleep practices, and Tummy Time 3. Leadership Covers negotiations, conflict resolution, time-outs, setting boundaries, and respectful disagreements with Parents 4. Playtime Covers age appropriate games and toys, staying involved, and bringing your own toys 5. Caregiving Skills Covers handwashing, hand sanitizers, Infant Feeding, Feeding older children, Personal Protective Equipment, Infant Crying, and Infant safe sleeping practices 6. CPR & First Aid Training Covers child and infant first aid and CPR, Choking Emergencies, Using an AED, Illnesses, and When To Call For Help.
CABS Courses are from 9am to approximately 1:30pm, Snacks & Drinks Provided.
Course is $30.00; this includes Course Book, Additional Activity Information Booklet, 2 Year Certification Card, and First Aid Kit (classes are limited to 10 students, early registration required to participate)
